The Backward Valuation MethodTM (BVM) is a proprietary, benchmark-based valuation model developed to assess early-stage companies from the perspective of investors, advisors, and founders. It delivers reliable, stage-matched valuations based on the value profiles of closely matched comparables. Starting from real-world funding data, BVM constructs a complete, phase-by-phase valuation benchmark — adjusted for industry, geography, and macroeconomic conditions.

Rather than relying on speculative income forecasts or traditional NPV formulas, BVM focuses on assessing what similar companies were actually worth at a comparable stage of development — the company’s “NOW time” (e.g., late pre-seed, post-seed, or six months from a $2M Series A).

  • Level 2 - gathers additional context to build a deeper profile — funds raised to date, funding objectives, revenue stage, market traction, competitive position, and intellectual property assets.

Step 2: We Analyze

We perform a comparable search, interprets and filters the results, and constructs detailed historical (backward) funding benchmarks. The process is assisted by AI and refined daily to improve matching accuracy.
